Fruitful Dutch maritime trade mission to Indonesia

From 26 to 30 September 2016, Mr H.G. Lacet joined a Trade Mission to Indonesia, entailing visits to various yards in Surabaya, Jakarta and the region of Banten (West Java). The mission presented interesting stepping stones for further business between the Dutch participating companies and their Indonesian counterparts. Discussions to organise a follow-up meeting are on-going.

From September 26 till 30 a Dutch maritime delegation visited Indonesia. Several yards in Surabaya, Jakarta and the region Banten (West Java) were visited by the nine Dutch maritime companies. Trade association Netherlands Maritime Technology, who worked together in close cooperation with INSA and IPERINDO, was delighted to present an intensive visiting program with matchmaking sessions and many company visits.

On September 26 and 27 the yards PT Pal Indonesia, PT Dok & Perkapalan Surabaya, PT Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyard and the Institute Teknology Sepuluh Surabaya in Surabaya were visited. On September 28, several shipyards and organisations in Jakarta were visited; PT Dok & Perkapalan Kodja Bahari, PT Daya Radar Utama and IPERINDO. Near Jakarta you will find the region Banten (West-Java). On September 29 the Dutch delegation visited here PT Caputra Mitra Sejati and PT Samudera Marine Indonesia. On September 30, a meeting with INSA in Jakarta was planned.

One of the highlights

During the trade mission, east Java’s Surabaya-based Institute of Technology (ITS) signed a cooperation agreement to develop a maritime technopark project with the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) of the Netherlands. The technopark will be designed as a center of education and practice. Students will not only produce papers, but also innovative products that could open business opportunities.

Follow up visit

The Netherlands is looking forward to visit Indonesia again. Trade Promotion Manager Marjan Lacet of Netherlands Maritime Technology is planning a new trade mission in cooperation with IPERINDO and INSA.
